Monteverde

Monteverde / Santa Elena was developed in the forties of the last century. In the beginning a few costarican families settled down. Scarcely 10 years later a group of Quakers from the United States decided to live here and earned their living costs with the production of cheese. Large parts of the green montain were gradually placed under protection and are now points of atraction for tourists from all over the world.
